Album confusion - can't see all my albums
 

Am I doing something wrong?

When I go to the User CP from the control bar near the top of the page, and click on Pictures & Albums, I can see just one album called "My orchids" with two photos. YET, when I go to my first post in the forums (Introductions - Break the Ice ! : About how I got started with orchids. 1st post.) and click on the camera icon, I can see two other albums, "Miscellanious" and "Jan-Feb 2007 Blooms" but not "My orchids".

What have I broken?? OR am I doing wrong??

I wanted to add a photo to "My orchids" album. But if it doesn't show when someone clicks on the camera icon how do other members find it? Why don't all three albums show up either path?

Also, from the User CP, I only see albums, not the pictures I have uploaded. Yet the selection choice says, "Pictures & Albums". There seems to be a discontinuity in the boards code regarding these two actions which should produce the same result - unless I am totally missing the boat.

:hmm Have you tried going in through the Gallery link on the menu (located on the left side of any site page)?

I just tried the "Gallery" link, both paths "Member Galleries" and "Personal Albums Index", and both just show the last two albums I created not the first called "My orchids". I also tried before I logged in and got the same result.

Could it be the way I created the albums. I don't remember how I did the first (one missing) as I was new to the board and trying to find my way around. I think I may have started with the User CP and used the "Pictures & Albums" link there. It seems that there are several "paths" to get to where you can add albums. Guess I have been doing computers for too long (since 1960) for me not to expect consistent results. :biggrin:

If I have uncovered a programing problem, I will be happy to do some testing for you - be devils advocate. :evil::biggrin:

:hmm I don't think it's a prgramming glitch as nobody else has asked about this. I was busy last week and am now playing catch-up around here :faint:

The gallery(camera icon) and the 'pictures & albums' thing in the user profile appear to be two different things, that don't communicate with each other. Inoticed that quite a while ago, back when the 'pictures&albums' thing was introduced at the same time as the 'groups'. So if you have pics in each, you have to go to each place separately to see what's there. So your 'My orchids' is only visible from the user CP, while the other two can only be seen through the gallery. I really don't understand why there are two photo systems on OB!
