Yam Queen Adelia in SH: sunburn or fungus on leaf?

Hi my Yam. grew larger outside my window. I repotted in SH and seems doing OK with many new roots.
today I noticed a couple of spots on the smaller leaves.
Is it sun burn marks or is it a fungus?

what do you think of the new roots? he leaves seem large and fleshy.

I think I'd be very happy to see all those new roots. I can't tell you about the leaves, so I'd pick sunburn :)

i hung it above my window sill - left side of south exp window - but there is a mosquito screen.
was wondering if sun here can be so strong - see new roots from opposite side of sunburn - some PB are making lots of new roots and seem to like LECA / S/H.

the prob is the Den formosum will post pic later. no time now.
when is such a Yamadara supposed to bloom?
leaves are so fleshy + long. like bunny ears

how often do you water it?

Actually this has been renamed a Maumeneara (abbr. Mau.) It doesn't look like fungus to me, but it's hard to say from a photo.

I would cut it, pour hydrogen peroxide and then spray Physan on it. (just my 2 cents)

Just FYI, I have one of these and mine have very plump/fat bulbs (they are in semi-hydro too). Yours are kind of wrinkled. Maybe needs a little more water??

Good luck. :)

Thanks I water about twice a week and spray more or less every day. old PB are wrinkled - the new ones with root growth are plump.

i am novice and I have read so much about root rot that i have been conservative with watering in the summer - i think maybe i need to water every other day when warm.

melissa - how often do you water yours?

could it be transferring to SH may make some PB wrinke? or maybe the wrnkled ones are old? the new one is really smooth and plump - just checked

If your new ones are plump then no worries. Your schedule is probably fine.

Stefano, Do you have access to a light meter?

stefpix 11-01-2009 01:38 PM

No. I have cameras. Do old PB usually wrinkle?
my window sometimes is filtered by the mosquito screen. also some branches by some tree in a yard, and I am on the 2nd floor.
