clean up after mealybugs

It is possible to clean plastic pots with 10 to 1, water and clorox, to be able to reuse them? I had a bad infestation of the critters and have thrown away the plants, all dead, and dirt/orchid potting mix. Thanks in advance for all your help. I like this forum, but am somewhat lost. I posted this message once but have lost it...somewhere the is a message floating around.

It might be easier to purchase new pots, but if you wanted to clean them that way it would probably work. Make sure you use a fresh solution of bleach. I'd add some detergent to the mix as well.

Don't hesitate to leave the pots soaking overnight. I don't know anything that would survive that.

Hi :waving
Here's a bit of help:

As for the pots, I always clean mine that way but I let them soak overnight and then rinse them well. After they are out in the air, the chlorine will dissipate anyway :)

I put mine through my dishwasher with the rest of my dirt dishes. I don't think anything could survive that much steaming!!!! The only time I don't reuse them is if I have had to cut them really badly to free the orchid without damaging the roots.
