That's FANSTATIC. A beautiful color, and well grown plant. It looks like you have a colorful view from your window.

That is one extra-ordinary Rothschildiana if it be correct and not an extended hybrid from it.

Gorgeous, moving in? Why, is it getting a little nippy up by you guys?

Raymond, those are beautiful blooms. I wish I could find a blooming-size Rothschildiana somewhere. How big is the plant? Does it seem (vegetatively speaking) to take more after the Euanthe sanderiana or Vanda coerulea parent?

Thanks all.

Roy, it came to me as V Rothschildiana. It does seem darker in color this year (the photo was also taken in the evening) but it has also been growing & opening in cooler/colder weather this year. One of my V coerulea plants (originally from Andy's) also opened up much darker this year, although that one also got a colder treatment last winter. Browsing the internet, there are some photos of the pink form of V Rothschildiana not unlike what I have.

Steve, it's a pretty large plant - this one definitely takes after the sanderiana parent vegetatively. It's in an 8" basket and currently it's about 5 1/4 feet from root tips to flower spike top, about 3 feet from basket top to the top leaf and averages about 16" wide.

Raymond, not really disputing the color as that can alter with growing conditions, its just the shape. Its far better than most/all I've seen on the net. Its near awardable flower, really great quality for the crossing. That why I thought it too good for a Roth'.
