Lc. Cariad's Mini-Quinee is the cross between Lc. Mini Purple and C. intermedia.
Like Mini Purple, Lc. Cariad's Mini-Quinee is not a high plant and blooms at least twice a year.

I love the color, well grown.

Wonderful! I love the color. Thanks for sharing. :)

Nice bloom, pheli. Lc Cariad's Mini Quinee can have different color forms. The original color form was made with the lavender/pink form of Lc Mini Purple (Lc. Mini PURPLE) and the aquinii form of C intermedia (Quinee). Hence the name.

Pheli's flower gives a lot of information because it is coerulea and well-shaped, with no pinching of petal tips. We've bred this color form also. This is the coerulea form of Mini-Quinee, so the parents probably would have been Lc Mini Purple coerulea and C intermedia v. aquinii coerulea or intermedia coerulea, since coerulea is normally recessive and even one parent of another color form would have produced the type lavender/purple colors.

The bluish blush on the well-shaped petals means that either a flat petaled intermedia aquinii coer (or more likely, an intermedia coerulea) was used, since most aquiniis produce pinched cupped petals.

OOPS. Pressed the button twice.

Thanks for the inputs.

catwalker808, the seller stated that this plant is the mericlone of Lc. Cariad's Mini-Quinee 'Angle Kiss'.
Angle clone is a pretty clone of this hybrid and well known for its blue color.
I also saw some blue versions before, but have never seen color forms other than blue here in Taiwan.

I was just pointing out that your flower was very nice and there is a lot of difficulty involved in getting this particular color pattern and shape. If you insist, my comments would pertain to the original plant from which your plant was cloned.

Thanks again.
I have been looking for some information about it. I found it was registered in 1992, which is more than 15 years ago!
But I have never seen it till 3 years ago while my friend purchased one plant and bloomed it successfully.
I always love these little beauties and undoubtedly this blue beauty is to add to my collection.

Very nice, Pheli.

It's an interesting colour, I really like it and it's a hybrid I haven't seen before.
