I learned today that a preventative...
for pests, is to spray orchids with the original gold version of Listerene. Have been getting daily orchid tips from Ryan the Orchid from Gerogetown, TX
"Listerine has anti-fungal properties, and the alcohol content also makes it effective against bugs! This "2-in-1" home remedy can be used as a spray at full strength for short periods (about 2-3 consecutive days is okay) as a preventative measure on your orchids." anyway, happy to share this. Prevention ,in my book, is always better than cure .
I use a wetting agent in my feed water and I find that this also acts as a good preventative for bugs like aphids and red spider , in addition if I add hydrogen peroxide to the water I have less fungal and bacterial problems |
LOL
I'm never without my Listerine spray bottle in the orchid room! |
