Brass. Jiminy Cricket
One of the first blooms in my new shade house! I bought this guy at Home Depot some months ago and attached it to a piece of grape wood I bought at Petco.

The bloom is lovely. Was this a baggy orchid?

Jimminey Cricket (not spelled like Pinnochio's little friend for some reason), and now officially Rhychovala rather than Brassavola. That is one of the nicest I have ever seen pictured, many of the flowers tend to be a bit floppy.
It is obviously perfectly healthy, great growing. How big is the plant? |
I have a few of these and love them. The fragrance at night is delicious. Actually, it is now classified as Rhynchovola.
|
This brings up an interesting question. When this hybrid was made both species were considered Brassavola. Now they are known as Rhyncholaelia (Brassavola) digbyana and Brassavola nodosa. So, how should this now be handled?
