This is a first bloom for this little cutie. :babygirl I bought her in the winter of 2007. It's been in bud for over a week now, so I've been waiting for her to finally open up. :tapfoot: It's suppose to be very fragrant, but I have yet to notice anything. :nono:
Hope you enjoy!

Oh wow Kiki, that's a really wonderful flower. You must have really needed some patience.

Very nice! I got a plant in 2007, too.
It is now a mature plant and is in spike recently.

What a beautiful big flower on such a small plant.

I am glad you posted a photo since I have 4 crosses with this hybrid, Lc. Mari's Glory, Mari's Love, Mari's Magic and Blc. Haw Yuan Beauty. They are all fragrant and great bloomers.

Excellent flower, I too have a cross with this one. Lc. Irene's song "Montclair which is in bud and just beginning to open. Mine was very fragrant. And if I remember correctly there scent is stronger in the morning and will take a couple days to develope.

Thanks Dave! I'm checking my new bloom every morning, afternoon, evening in hopes the fragrance comes soon. :scratchhead: Has there been any casualties with a bloom from over-sniffing? :coverlaugh:
As soon as the fragrance comes, I plan to take her for a joy ride to some elderly folks who would love to smell her and admire her.
It's amazing how many people don't know what an orchid is. I use to think they loved to see me coming, but it's the bloom they are looking forward to. : Smilie_happy_peac

That's almost as sweet as the flower itself, maybe more.
I also love that chair way back in the yard. What is it facing?

Ahhhh, those are two white adirondack chairs that my hubby and I love to sit in and watch the scenery while sipping a glass of wine....bluebirds in their houses, black angus cows in the field across the road, tractors going by, planes flying overhead. We can see most anything when you live out in the willywags like we do.
It's our summer sitting area....out in the middle of the lawn. :beach Doesn't get much better than that. Come on over, there's always room for one more.
