Strong fragrance of coconut during the day! This terrestrial has tiny individual flowers, but produced in abundance on the floral stem. My plant is getting bigger and I have four spikes this year.

Interesting but for some reason both pictures point to a Cattleya.

Mauro,

It looks quite good from the thumbnail, but then it links to a Catleya when you click on them, so I can't see the detail :(

That's interesting, Rosie and Harry!! I rebuilt the links and they continue pointing out to Cattleya Claesiana. It must be something on Flickr...! I am uploading the photos using the OB upload tool in a moment! Thanks for the warn, guys!

I always wondered why these went for sale regularly in orchid shows.

Unfortunately many terrestrial orchids don't get the time of day because the flowers are very small and not very colorful.

Maybe when I get a chance, I'll get one of these just for the heck of it. After all it smells like coconuts! Coconuts...mmmm...I can imagine it now, heavenly! :cloud9:

I always find myself very interested in seeing just that sort. I think those are cute little flowers. I like the look of the spikes aswell and it looks like it's doing well.

Mauro,

Thanks for another teriffic posting, and perfect photos.

I really like terrestrials, and I will make a note of this one to look for. STRONG fragrance is good for me, I love most of the orchid franrances, but I have a weak sense of smell so I can't enjoy the more subtle ones.
