Mystery dendrobium

I bought this dendrobium at an orchid show three years ago. The person selling it didn't know what kind it was, and just wanted to get rid of it, so she sold it to me for $5.00 :)

After 2+ years, it finally bloomed last summer. The flowers are a pretty white & purple combination, and I'm curious to know what type of dendrobium it is.

I don't know what kind it is...but it's lovely! Plus it's refreshing seeing the beautiful blue sky and green trees in the background! Thanks for sharing (maybe someone else with more experience knows what it could be)!

Can you show us pics of the plant itself? I have no idea on the species, but the type of plant may be a clue as to culture.

im not a dend expert but it looks like an antelope-type crossed with a phalaenopsis-type

Here's a picture of the whole plant. I'm wondering -- should I cut off the old stem on the left??

An antelope-type is my guess, name unsure definitely not an expert on dends, have a few of my own, just honory for 2nd round blooming. I would not cut back the adult plant until you see it totally turning brown. Somewhere I read they fed off the adult plant, someone correct me if I am wrong! Nice one though, looks very happy :D

Don't cut off the old cane unless it's completely dessicated. Occassionally, a new flower spike or keikis will develop on the cane.

So there is a possibility a new flower spike may show face on the old canes:drool: , was not aware of that...sweet

Whew, good thing I asked about cutting off the old cane before I went ahead and did it!!

Thanks for the info :)

No promises ... I did say OCCASIONALLY
