Can you ID this copper colored Phal.?

I know the chances are small but maybe some body recognizes this flower and is able to give my new purchase a name?

Without sun light the color looks like dark red copper. There is some orange on the lip too.

Thanks for looking,
Nicole

I have no idea what it is...Kinda looks like a bellini? Either way, I think it's beautiful!!!

Have you tried contacting De Vreede Orchideeen? (that's where you said it came from right? I didn't recheck the email you sent) You might get lucky and get an answer, just like you managed to talk to someone at Fransen.

You are very very bad showing me your new phals, I'm off to the garden center now to find the Phal Wiganiae! And I told myself that I would stop spending money on orchids!

Thanks pitcher, there were several hybrids that clearly showed species... there was an other plant, with more yellow and the speckles were easier visible... but with the same pinkish and orange shadings...

I should call the nursery...

Blueszz 06-23-2009 08:59 AM

I called the nursery and they said I would email them the picture and they would have a look at it! Very friendly people!

PitcherASAMD 06-23-2009 09:07 AM

Oh awesome! Please let us know what it is when you find out! I think i might need to add this one to my list of must haves!

Blueszz 06-23-2009 10:06 AM

They answered the email but no luck. They said this variety is something they didn't grow a lot and was an exception to their collection. The only thing they could say that it's a multi-hybrid. Yeah right ;) I could have made up that too:rofl:

There were others in the shop that showed signs of bellina in the parentage and I'm 100% positive I've seen them somewhere online. I guess it was on a German forum but it has thousends of pictures with species, primary hybrids and multi-hybrids. Maybe grown from seed, who knows...

Well, if I come up with a name or somebody else has a suggestion, you'll read it here I guess ;)

Anyway, thanks for looking at my Phal. I guess you totally understand why I fell in love with this one!

Attachment 32935 I think I have the same one, although my picture is darker than yours. I'ts call Phalaenopsis San Lorenzo:)

Blueszz 06-23-2009 11:14 AM

Woot Woot, you could be right! Going to check it out right a way! Thank you!

Edit: actually I can't find much under Phal. San Lorenzo, so it might be a nursery's name?
I found this:

Seems to be the same plant, though mine seems to be darker but I noticed with this PHal. a lot depends on the light used. I'll contact this grower to get more info... stay tuned :)

I guess this one might stay a NOID...

Nicole
