Oerstedella medinae (Dodson) Hágsater
 

Interesting Ecuadorian species. The plant is tall, the reed stems verrucous and the flowers are born from the opposite side of the leaves. It was first described as Epidendrum, then transferred to Oerstedella and now, according to Kew, back to Epidendrum again... go figure!!

I don't think I've ever seen one like that. It's pretty neat looking! Thanks for sharing it.

Maybe we can't decide what to call it, but I don't think it cares. It is just awesome anyway!
