Help..Thrips...yikes!!!

Help!!! How do I get rid of thrips? I have a schombo that has 2 flower spikes on it..yippie!! Yesterday I'm checking out the spikes and one is brown and dead and the other I found thrips :((:(( Not a bunch but looked like a few. I sprayed the plant with my alcohol, 409 & water mix. Will this kill those little #@$%^*#?? Can I kill them :evil: and what is the best way?????

I feel lucky that I knew what they were. A friend had a plal and showed me what they were last month. She said you can't get rid of them throw the plant away.

Yikes - I hate thrips! I used Safers End All Insecticidal Soap quite successfully - got rid of them after 3 spraying spaced a week apart....and it's relatively harmless and safe.

I have also tried ethanol with quite good success so you may have already solved the problem. Good luck!
