Rhyncholaelia digbyana

Hi all! I might've spelled the name of this one wrong, so let me know LOL...Just thought I'd share this cool species orchid that opened last week - I got it in sheath, so I did not earn the blooms, but it sure took its sweet time opening them! I heard that they are slow growers, and I would have to agree!
Here are its culture details of how I grow it: -south window, windowsill -watering: 1x a week, light fert -humidity: 60% -fan 24/7 for air circulation -media: 100% coarse bark (It likes to be on the dry side) Enjoy! ~Becky |
I have this and it is lovely. Does yours have the smell yet? Some say it stinks but I like mine, it has a soapy smell.
They like a lot of sun, I would let it dry a little more, they like a good drying between waterings |
ooooooooo looking great there ;);)-- what does it smell like?!! :) Do you mind disclosing where you got this beauty, im on a digbyana hunt :) thanks
What I know bout digby is it doesnt like it roots wet for long, enough to get some water to drink, it needs high light to bloom- i know you'll do great with it  |
It looks great Becky! :) If I remember correctly, you got this one quite some time ago, right? I remember you asking for OW info on it.
