Onne of 'those people' - boarding orchids

As of Saturday morning, I will be one of 'those people'.

My mom just sent me all the catts I've talked about before (20+, many in 8" pots). I have 6 big and 2 regular sized boxes of plants sitting down in the Subaru.

I decided that the difference in conditions between my Mom's house (humid and cloudier in PA) versus my house (drrrry and brilliantly sunny) would be too much of a shock to the plants, so I am going to board the majority of them at Fantasy Orchids for a month or two while they aclimate.

Saturday morning Kent is going to inspect all the plants and give me a repotting lesson. So if anyone is bored, I'll be at Fantasy Orchids bright and early, for several hours. They are also having an orchid raising class on Saturday from 11:00 am - 12:30ish.

Zero to boarding in 8 months. It's all my mom's fault...

Wow, You're lucky! I'm sure you will take great care of them.

Hiya! I'd love to help, as I'm just a stones throw from you, but I have my own plants that are demanding my attention.

But you're right-- the light here can be intense. I'm able to grow phals in a north facing window without issue.

As you can see from the photos, she sent me quite a nice catt collection. 18 plants, most of them are of substantial size (6" - 8" pots).
