Fungus or virus on my cymbs?
2 Attachment(s)
Hi Cymbidium Gurus!
After reading a lot about virus I am getting a little paranoid. My guess the 2 photos are of a fungus on my cymbs, but I have searched and searched but have not been able to locate any concrete info / photos. I appreciate any and all input. Thanks, Jim |
I have the same on my cym. No idea myself, but can't wait for some other members to chime in!

Hi Jim
You can't really tell by looking. It could be fungus easily. I've had some plants that looked like that and checked the virus strip test from Agdia and they were free of virus. You can only really tell by using the Agdia strips. Worth the slight investment (In quantity less than $5). Alternative is to send to Critter Creek and have them check. |
Mine looks similar and I was told it was OK, normal for cym's
|
Yes normal for Cyms with red spider infection I would say!LOL Have a look under the leaf they are really tiny I use a magnifying headset to check my plants .
If it is red spider then you will see a sort of grey web or discoloration under the leaf. Also those black spots on the leaf tip are sometimes the first sign of leaf tip die back which is caused by a high Ph or EC within the pot .So I would check the root system and either give the plant a good flush or replace the media. Hope this helps |
