Epiweb tube SII for angraecoids

Inspired by Michael Karlbom I made this epiweb tube for my angraecoids - they just love it

Hi, Golden,

For us newbies out here, could you please add some details about what your pictures are? Is this a watering device? Are the orchids removable? Your orchids look like they absolutely love it! Could you please explain a little more what this is, how it works and why you chose to do this?

Thanks!

I cannot take credits for this idea .I was inspired by Michale Karlbom - the inventor of Epiweb.
The roots of the orchids infiltrate the material so you cannot take them off,you must cut the material together with the plant. I used some flexible pipes in order to form a ring which lies on the top of the epiweb tube. I made several holes on the tube so the water can run along the epiweb....it is something like a shower/water wall.
This method is ideal for plants which:
-grow best mounted
-need constant moisture combined with good air circulation around the roots
With epiweb you cannot overwater. It also saves the need of orchidarium and spraying system - I can grow "difficult" orchids in my living room,on my table (if I want). The pump is on a timer so there isn`t a problem if I am not at home for many days.

OH WOW! I was wondering how on earth I might deal with some mounted orchids one of these days!! Thanks for the explanation!!

The foil plays 2 roles:
-reflects the light
-takes in the water drops which sometimes fall from the orchid leaves

I made 2 more tubes:
-45sm tall with several paphs, aeranthes, gongora
-80sm tall - mainly vandas nad ascocendas + 1 laelia, 1 sophronitis and 1 bulbo.
