Passionflower problem
 

Ive had my baby ( my passion flower vine) for 7 years..7!!! and not a single bloom!!! what on earth am i doing wrong? i JUST re-potted it today in a miracle formula soil mixed with potting soil, but aside from that, anyone have any suggestions?

passionflowers need lots of sunshine, I grow mine in the ground outdoors, covered up with a mulch in the winter to protect the roots. Then I feed it in spring and it has flowered from the second year, they are also quite thirsty plants. hope this helps

mine has always been at my huge picture window so it gets morning and afternoon sun, i don't think i would risk it outside.. would it survive being buried in at least 4 feet of snow?

I don't know how cold resistant these plants are. I have a friend in the north of the Netherlands who has one growing along a wrought iron fence. It doesn't get that much sun, hardly any fertilizer and only watered if it hasn't rained in a while (which is rare, it always rains). It blooms profusely every summer. Temps don't get very low (only a few degrees below freezing at the lowest) because of the buffering effect of the North Sea.
Apparently passion vines will produce only leaves if fertilizer has too much N in it. The lower the ration of N, the better. I also read that some plants are just duds, they won't do anything despite being grown the same way as other plants right next to it.
Are you trimming it back every year? My friend never trims hers, maybe that's part of it. Janet is right about them needing lots of water. They grow so fast that the new growths take all of the plant's water ressources.

Mine is indoors and pot bound ofcourse, if i miss a watering, a vine will die D: so i havent had to trim is back, its such a finicky plant, more finiky then it seems my orchids have been, but! i have kept it alive for 7 years, so that has to say SOMETHING atleast.

i can try to take some pictures, it does not have to many vines atm it has two new little ones and one large one, the vines die SUPER easy so ive lost many but it always springs back. iam also careful not to trim to much i i do trim it at all, it can sprout new growths form dead ones. i only trim them off if there dry as a bone

Do you know the name of the variety/hybrid you have? It could help to look up if it's a finicky bloomer. My friend's plant never dies during the winter. The leaves fall off, but the vines stay alive. It doesn't get cold enough to kill them.

Might be lack of light, they need quite a lot at our latitudes. Where do you keep it when it's inside, and when it's outside?
I wish I could help more, but I don't own one of these, only know about it from friends who grow it,a nd not even indoors.

its an inside plant, i never take it outside, and its in front of my huge picture window at the front of the house
