Newbie from Virginia
 

I have just found this forum and I am sure I will learn lots from all of you! I have about 10 orchids at this time and plan to acquire more. Many times I have questions about my orchids and have no friends that grow them. Sometimes it can be a lonely hobby! I also have a deep love of roses and have been growing them for several years.

So, hello to all orchid enthusiasts out there!

Welcome aboard. Some years ago I lived in Richmond, and made frequent excursions over to Floradise Orchids in Gordonsville.

Oh, wow! Thanks for all the welcomes. It makes me feel right at home. I live in south central Virginia, two hours from Richmond and two from Roanoke. I live in the middle of nowhere! I wish I lived close enough to make society meetings feasible. I was a member of a rose society about an hour away but that doesn't meet anymore, so it's just me. Thanks for the welcoming! I am sure I will be posting questions for all your wonderful advice!!!

sounds like near Smith Mountain lake. An occasional trip to Gordonsville or Richmond might help. The forum is great for information and chatting.
