Very pretty, I tried to look up the parents on RHS and it said one of the parents is not identified , I quess they are keeping it a secret. sure looks like a intermedia cross to me. what does your tag say about the parents.

The tag says nothing but the name...and thanks for trying to look it up. I'm posting this updated pic now that the other bud has opened and you can see that the older flower's color has darkened extending more of the violaceous color to the petels and sepals. I have not altered the photographic technique other than not using a dark background as was used for the original pic.

Thanks for posting the updated pic. :D

I looked up Blue hawaii in Orchid Wiz, and it shows a Thwaitesara Blue Hawaii (Thwaitesara Lois McNeil x Sophronitis perrinii). Thwaitesara has taken the place of many of the old Blc. chids.

S. perrinii used to be L. perrinii. and Thw. Lois McNeil used to be Blc. Lois McNeil as well.

It actually shows in OW that this is the old Blc. Blue hawaii. When I pulled up the parentage pics, it definitely looks like you have the Thw. (Thwaitesara) Blue Hawaii plant in your collection. I guess the grower left off the "B" on the tag.
