Miltoniopsis Bert Field 'Eileen' AM/AOS

hi everyone Im thinking about transplanting my miltoniopsis in to a s/h system. Does anyone have any experience with this? My Milt. had problems with root rot a couple weeks ago but its doing ok right now. Theres one healthy long root and many really tiny new roots. Should i wait till the small roots grow out a little or is it ok just to transfer it as is?

I don't grow Milt., but the best time to transfer to s/h is when you have new root growth. I have had oncidium and Colmanara in s/h and they did fine.
Good luck!

Bill

there is a spike growing right now should i cut it so it uses its energy into growing more roots or should i let it grow out flower then put in to sh?

Depends..I'm not a pro or anything.... but if you want to see the flowers wait till its done blooming then transfer after everything has fallen off...or if you don't care to see it bloom and don't want to wait then whack away...i personally would wait..
