Angracum X Phal. ????

I have an unknown plant with a label that says: Angracum Magdalenea X Phal Kotopaking.

Does this cross have a name? Does anyone know what kind of flower I can expect?

is that cross at all possible?

This is a picture of the unknown plant. Anyone want to venture a guess?

I just took a pic of the label. Am I reading it wrong?

weird... there is no Angraecum x Phalaenopsis registered in RHS... also no Phal. Kolopaking (Only Paraphalaenopsis Kolopaking, and several Phal. "something" Kolopaking)

then Angraecum magdalenae is a quite large plant... yours are quite small (seedlings?).... they actually look like Sarchochilus or even some Paphiopedilum...

I am clueless here.. I must admit...

Very suspicious name, Marilyn! Certainly doesn't appear to have any Phal in it!

:)

Something fishy here. Im not aware of any Angraecoid / Phalaenopsis hybrids. I believe this is in the realm of comparing Phrag and Paph hybrids. The ever elusive Phragmipaphium, which does not exist. Angreacoids and Phals are of the Vanda Alliance, but not able to be hybridized. If an expert can correct me, it is welcomed. If a Angraecum x Phal hybrid ever took, the orchid world would hear about it. This would be big news in hybridization.

Your plants leaves are lacking the distinct bilobed leaf tips of the Angreacum. Have no clue as to what it might be though.

it reminds me of a tolumnia plant, I have a few. But I am no expert in this field

I think it may be a Angracum Magdalenea x Paraphalaenopsis Kolopaking because Paraphalaenopsis used to be part of Phalaenopsis. The person who sold you this plant may have marked it still as Phal.

And i think Paraphalaenopsis is able to be hybridised with Angreacum.I may be wrong.
