New from Somerville, Mass
Hi,
This looks like such a great forum. I found it while seeking more info. I've got the orchid bug. Bought a white Phalaenopsis in March 2008, didn't pay much attention to it, and it rebloomed a few months ago! Didn't get a lot of flowers on the spike (only 5), but I figured I'd try my luck and bought a bunch more Phalaeopsis. I'm now paying more attention to their needs. I do like growing "exotic" plants indoors here in the Northeast - have some interesting palms and a kaffir lime, too. |
Hi Kathy and welcome to Orchid Board,
If you're paying more attention to them (which is no bad thing) just be careful not to start overwatering. Phals do better on too little water than too much. My tip for Phals is to have them in a clear pot and only water when the roots turn silver/white all the way down at the bottom. While they're still green don't water yet. Anyway Orchid Board is a great place to learn all about your new phals so get stuck in and ask any questions you want. :welcome: |
