Heirloom Cattleya
This was one of my first orchids, given me by the gentleman who introduced me to orchids and the whole wonderful world of plants. He had his training at the Bronx Botanical Gardens and worked as caretaker on the Astor Estate and Mellon Estate. This plant is considerably larger than most of what I grow, but I can't bear to part with it because of its associations. Cattleya Dubiosa:

It's beautiful, Ron. You can definitely see the influence from the C. harrisoniae parent in the blooms. Does that parent also dominate for plant characteristics--in other words, does it look like a typical bifoliate cattleya?

Beautiful, Ron. One of the great oldies, I think.
