I did it again--at Green Acres
 

I did it again, I went to Green Acres yesterday. I can't resist those vandas. Now I need to build another section to my vanda racks. I also need to go to Lowes to buy whatever type of saw I need to lower the stand I have them on. 5 stands, 4 legs each, sounds like work, does it not.

I never learn how to pass up those half price plants. Too many wanted to follow me home. Now I have more work again, she grows her vandas in pots, I like mine in hanging baskets. Will I ever wise up??????:roll::roll::roll:

So how many did you get this time? :biggrin: I thought that last time you got some there was no room left! I guess there's always room for more orchids. If you can't find room, make it!

Camille, would you believe 9???? and she gave me one which didn't have a name tag. I like surprises.

I don't have room, that is why I need to build another rack. After I build that one I will need to stop buying anything which need to be hung. There is NO room for another rack. I also have another problem, those rascals keep growing. I need to cut down the legs on the stands that my racks are on so the light mover doesn't hit the tops.

Like you said, if there isn't room, make room but even then, there is just so far I can go.

Wish me luck, I will need it.

Marilyn How many Vandys are left ?????? Of course I would'nt buy any cause I'm still grounded from my last two Orders From Green Acres 22 plants in all the Vandys I got were great and there is this space opened up when Doc stopped by and got some plants HUMMMM

I do wish you luck modifying your space to fit them all in. I've been there... and had to spend more money than I really could at the time in order to accomodate them all :evil: It sounds like you've got a plan though! :)

I don't know how it happens, but I always manage to find another space or two...or maybe I just keep adding more places to put them? I don't know.

Either way, good job Marilyn! Which ones did you get?

That's another thing I LOVE about Vandas, you can hang them closer together than most (when they're not flowering of course) You have a great set up Marilyn. Don't forget to post pics of your new babies!

She still has quite a lot of Vandas but They were either ones I already had, or the plants were a bit picked over. She does have many other plants, especially mounted plants, and Catts.

It snowed the night before we went and she has a dirt drive going back to the greenhouses. Getting back there was a little difficult, getting out was almost impossible. :oops_sign We were STUCK IN THE MUD. The ruts were about 6" deep or more. We tried, Cindy pushed, we rocked, :whew we backed up to get a running start, :pray, :nothing helped. Finally Cindy found some old cardboard boxes which we used as a bridge to get over the ruts. With a lot of pushing by Cindy we SLOWLY eased out........Cindy sure had to work for that sale.:cheer:

I did get some nice plants, but ran out of wood baskets to plant them in (she grows in pots). I still have 3 - 6" baskets left but the remaining plants were too big for those pots. More 8" are ordered from Kelly's Korner.

NOTE: If you go there, don't drive back to the greenhouses, stay on the paved driveway.
