Hallo,
on a Orchidshow last week in Dresden, Germany, I have seen this Tomatoe-greenhouse used to cultivate orchids inside. Attachment 29163 The owner is using a fogger to moisture the orchids. The lattice shelves inside are installed vertical, so the mounted orchids can hang on it. A small ventilator is moving the air inside and an other one is blowing fresh air inside. On the top are installed T5-lamps for additional light. I found, it's a good idea. Greetings Karina PS: Please excuse my english, it's not the best. |
Karina, your english is great. Much better than my German:lol:
I have used these for orchids as well as other plants. They work pretty good and the cost is very good. I found it hard to get light to the lower shelves though. |
That is so cool!!
I have to reiterate the above sentiment -dein Englisch ist viel, viel besser als mein Deutsch. If the light doesn't reach well to lower shelves... would that be an option for shade-loving species? |
Jess, thats what I do.
I have the exact same setup. Admittedly, I've crammed most of my plants on the first tier and some on the second, with the bottom for storage (can't forget about storage). But these things work great. I have an 80w HPS (I know, I need MH, but I found this a rewired it), a swamp humidifier, and a grow room controller that turns everything on and off. Humidity at 80% easy. The hard part is getting the right air movement in such a small space. Still trying, |
