Roots
After looking at some of my roots of a couple different plants of mine,
there white not the silver white but white.Still firm Is that from over watering or is that from something else that i have not read about? |
Are you referring to aerial roots or submerged ones? If it's the former, it suggests the need for more humidity. If submerged, it's perfectly normal.
Either way, I doubt it's an issue at all. |
there submerged..ok I thought i might be over watering. At what point will they turn green?
|
If they are submerged and not at the edge of the pot then white is quite normal. They only turn green when they are photosynthasising (no idea how you spell that) and for Photosynthasis you need light.
I judge watering by the roots at the edges of a clear pot, but I know from when I repot that those hidden away at the center are generally white or pale yellow. |
Agreed.
A root that is not exposed to light will have no need for chlorophyll, so will never be green. |
