New Aerangus Articulata and new grower
Hi there, new member here and a very new grower. I received an Aerangus Articulata from a friend who has been keeping it in her house for several months (she bought it at an orchid show some months back).
It's in a 4 inch plastic pot and she had it in a south facing, but not overly sunny window on a tray with all her other orchids. Since receiving it, I put it in my office at work in a warm place that receives diffused light. It came to me with some new roots growing, but now it has black spots on the bottom and 2 leaves have dropped (it think one was due to sunburn, i originally put it in a sunny window). I've been reading other posts about this orchid and am a bit discouraged and also confused. Should I mount it? should I mist it? should I treat it with something in case it has a fungal disease? or is it just unhappy? I would really like to do right by this beauty, so if I need to take it home and put it in the bathroom or somewhere else more humid, I can, I just need some clarification on what the best thing would be for it... Help! thanks! Jess |
Welcome to Orchid Board Jess.
I'm afraid I don't know anything about your orchid, but we have lots of really knowledgably people here so hopefully one of them will be along soon to advise you. I've just looked at pictures of Aerangus Articulata and it's really pretty, so I hope you get it sorted. :goodluck: |
Hi Jess,
I can't be of a lot of help but there is someone here who will chime in and be able to help you. I can say that my aerangis really took a big step forward when I increased the humidity. )mounted and in a terrarium) I also looked up a photo and it is stunning. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll find a happy place for it. Al |
