OK, one more feature.

The infraction system.

If you find a user that insults others or you catch a spammer posting nude pictures of Britney Spears or links to Viagra sites, you can issue an infraction.

10 points per infraction
100 points for spammer infraction

100 points will ban a user

Once a single "spammer" infraction is issued the user is automatically banned.

I think that this will be a nice democratic way of dealing with forum abuse.

The infraction system is available to all the registered users. You'll notice the yellow/red cards. SOrt of like in Soccer. Please use the infraction system justly.

Marty, you are placing a big responsibility on us, as members in giving us access to such a powerful tool...

I'm confident that the members of OrchidBoard will choose carefully in the use of this tool :clap:

No worries, our members can deal with it. No mercy for spammers though. We will see how it goes, if it gets abused I'll shut it down.

That's because in this thread so far are only Silver Orchids. You can't issue an infraction against a moderator or administrator. Try a thread with regular members....

A typed word it is open to the interpretation of the reader , I have seen a lot of misunderstandings from posts that were not intended to offend .
If blatant spam or a cussing match is one thing , but it could be used to cause trouble .
Why just us and not the moderators ? Reminds me of school days . Gin

Thanks for voicing my concerns, Gin. I was a bit uneasy when Marty tested the system on me (and others I presume). I've thought since then that other than 3 or so spam offenses that were quickly delt with, there haven't been any "offenses" among board members. Do we really need this system? Just a thought (now I'm worried I might say something offensive.)
