That such a cute little flower, do you know what it is? I'm starting to see crocus leaves breaking through here. I planted alot of bulbs late last fall, I hope they come up.

I saw a daisy (Bellis perennis) here on 21st january but apparently it's only spring if you can tread on nine at once (with one foot) (Spring comes early for me cos I have big feet )

Lovely pic of an often overlooked flower.

Regards
Heather

I have an eye for blue flowers and have rarely overlooked even this little one. Even when I have to pull it out of the veggie garden at work because it's a weed I still like to admire the pretty little flowers for a second or two.

I've been watching bulbs popping up on my campus. I've seen Convallaria, Crocus, Narcissus, and Snowdrops (why can't I remember their scientific name! I need to practice these things for my hort. classes!). The crocus back home should be blooming now. It's much milder over there than here at school. I just hope the squirrels don't dig them up again!

Galanthus ;) Over here in Europe the common snowdrop is Galanthus nivalis.
Over here the snowdrops are pretty much all that is blooming so far. The daffodils won't start for another few weeks at least, and then finally, the dutch tulip season will begin. I can't wait!

Thanks Camille! Galanthus, that's it! At home we get crocus the first week of February. Then I think the ealiest daffodils start the first week of March. I can't grow tulips because they fade away after a couple years in containers and if I planted them in the ground the deer would eat them! That didn't stop me from taking 2 free pots of tulips and a mixed pot of hyacinth and primrose back to my dorm after working the Valentine's Day plant sale my horticulture club held! My room smells amazing! It's like spring has already arrived!
