This beauty was a gift from Jesse Rozanski (Rozanski's House of Orchids) a few months ago. I had no idea what it was going to look like. I think this is one of the waxiest-looking Vandas I have.

Spectactular! The size of the flowers compared to the plant is amazing!

and does it get very big?
As Evan said the comparison of size - plant versus flowers is amazing! & that's without talking about the colour which is superb!

The plant itself is about a foot high, with about two feet of roots. The flowers are about 3 3/4"-4" in diameter. This appears to be it's second blooming since maturity. I took Jesse some pictures the other day, and he had some of this plant's siblings blooming in purple, also with very waxy flowers. They were beautiful!

Wow! I'm not usually a fan of the lighter reds and pinks, but this one I'd put in my collection without hesitation!

OH, it's beautiful. Now I would like to see one of the purple sibs.

I have one I'm watching every day. Each day it will open another flower. When I get 3 or 4 I'll post it.

Wow! Another beauty! Of my 15 or so vandas, none are blooming right now! I guess I do have three with spikes though. I will just have to keep admiring yours. This one looks like it should last awhile too. Good growing!

....and the king of vandaceous orchids just started to open this morning, Euanthe sanderiana. I'll start a thread on it when it finishes opening.

Ohhh ahhhh. Very nice! I can't wait for mine now. Your grow area looks really nice.
