Yellow Leaves on plants

I purchased 2 Dendrobium's last year at Home Depot. They have grown and flowered nicely. They are now developing yellowish leaves. I have them under lights and the leaves measured 1200 fc at the leaves. I keep them moist and use MSU for pure water every other time I water. What is wrong with them

Thanks

Dennis

As always, pictures would be helpful, but it sounds from your description that nothing is wrong.

there are several different kinds of deds. some which lose all their leaves at a certain time of year and have to go dormant, and some that never go dormant and just shed their older leaves.

I don't know much else about these different kinds of dends, but others on here can give you much more info if you know what kind you have or know the names.

Hi, Dennis!

I looked at the pics in your gallery showing the problem you're having. It looks like your dend. is a phalaenopsis-type dendrobium which is the only kind that I have. From your pictures, it looks like it's normal what is happening. It seems the yellow leaves are on the older growths - eventually those die and fall off, but turn yellow before doing so. Everything else looks good, roots and medium, etc.

I wouldn't worry unless there are more dramatic changes. Two questions - what is your humidity level and how often are you watering? If they are being kept too dry they may shed some leaves to preserve energy.

:iagree:

Looks fairly normal. Just watch your watering. Keep us posted.
