Some lights in the darkness...
5 Attachment(s)
In Holland we are in the darkest days of the year now...my Vandas are crying...but some Cattleyas have decided to flower as they should do in mid-summer. Very remarkable as we haven't seen any sun the last 3 weeks!!
The red: Blc. Chia Lin 'New City' (second plant blooming) The orange: Pot. Wattana Gold 'The gold of Ramindra' The lavender: Blc. Pamela Hetherington 'Coronation' Regards, Peter |
You got some gorgeous blooms there never the less. What kind of supplemental lighting do you give them?
|
I give them NO extra lighting or anything like that at all !!

You give me so much hope for my growing conditions!!!!!! Do they get bathed in sun during the summer though?
|
Peter...again, very well done!
Three weeks with no sun??? I'd die! By the third day of no sun here, I'm withering! |
Indeed in the summer the plants get all the light there is! Just enough shade to prevent the leaves from burning...
And Susanne....for me the same!!! Can you imagine my condition at the moment?? That's why i'm going to 'reload the battery' in Thailand for a month! Leaving within'a few days...can't wait...! Peter |
Peter, have a safe and wonderful trip :D
We'll be waiting for your vacation pictures to be posted when you return home ;) Enjoy :cheer: |
And I suppose you'll be orchid hunting, in a touristy way ofcourse. Have fun. Sounds like a great place to go.
