Hello All,
I posted a thread a while back inquiring if I was getting a flower spike on my large phal:

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...flowering.html

I decided to go ahead and repot it this morning. It was in a 6" clear plastic pot, and when I took it out it was ALL roots...no potting media left at all. They are all big, fat healthy roots. I potted it into a 8" clay pot (with holes on the sides and bottom) and put styrofoam packing peanuts in the bottom. There wasn't much room to put fresh bark mix, but did put some (and a little sphag) that I had soaked overnight. The picture shows how it looks now....because it had so many roots it was very difficult to plant it any lower in the pot than it is. But it looks all wrong.....should I have pruned the roots? Do I need to do this over? Please somebody talk me down haha! Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Personally, I'd have gone with a bigger pot and staked the plant upright, but there is basically nothing wrong with what you've done.

a deeper pot may have done the trick but it should be fine
