Ascocenda label - had to laugh; photo to follow
 

Greetings -
A $5 baggie that I bought at Lowe's or HD in October has buds just starting to open (yellow with orange spots - sweet!). It is tagged by Better-Gro, and the tag says, very exactly:
(Ascda. Chomnao. x Ascda. Guacha Long "Surat"
Luckily, RHS has pretty good ~fuzzy~ search capabilities.
The actual cross, unless I miss my blithering guess, is:
Ascda. Chomnard x Ascda. Guo Chia Long 'Surat'
For several years, I'd bloomed another of these baggies (a real blue beauty) that was labeled V. something-I-don't-remember x V. colorea
Finally dawned on me that the other parent was 'coerulea'.
I have really stopped being surprised when some plant I have turns out to be "unregistered' - my suspicion is always that it is just "misspelled."

lol, that's funny!!! They don't sell bag babies here in Illinois...at least, not that I'm aware of. I'd love to get one!!

I'm surprised that a $5.00 baggie would be putting out buds already. That was a great purchase. Keep us posted.
