here is what started my orchid quest

guess i have what is called a blasting bud :scratchhead:

I am really new to orchids so any helpfull hints/tips are welcome...

You can get bud blast due to changes in the environment (moving from greenhouse, to where you purchased it, to your home, for example). Once the buds have set/formed I try not to move the orchid if possible.:)

And welcome to Orchid Board! Don't hesitate to ask questions. My biggest tip for you would be to take a least a quick peek at your orchids ever couple days, or daily if you can. This way, you can see if something isn't quite right and head it off before it goes further ;) Advice I could have used early on!
