Whats wrong with this leaf?

I'm having issues, I recently posted about one of the leaves on my spiked phal turning yellow with spots. I had a few comments that people thought it was just a normal leaf dropping off. But now that leaf is gone and the next leaf is turning yellow/brown on the tips, its not the same as the other one looked. I'm so scared cause this phal is in spike and its the first phal i've ever had respike. Any ideas on what is going on?

Can you post pictures? That would be ideal. Is the phal in moss and I'm wondering if your phal is too wet and causing yellowing leaves. Or if you have it in too much sun. It should be in medium light. It's best to post pics before we instruct you further.

Whatever is wrong with it, I personally would cut it off at least about half way back, treat it with some fungicide and hope for the best. The other one looks a little spotted around the edges too but Im no phal expert so I dont know if that's something to be concerned about. Be carefull with your watering, like Kiki said. Where do you keep it and how much water is it getting? The roots seem to be ok, at least the ones I can see coming up.

I posted pictures in my gallery, thats all I know how to do. Is it better to post it in the thread? Can anyone tell me how to do that? I have it potted in bark no moss at all. I water it once a week if that so I don't think its too much water. It was sitting in a windowsill facing southwest. I'm so worried, I really need a spike! haha. If this leaf dyes and falls, there will be no leaf on that side, is that bad? especially if a spike is forming?

I don't have much experience with orchid diseases, so there may be some disease causing this, but it sounds like too much light. Is the orchid right in that SW window? That's way to much light for Phals. You can try moving it at least a couple feet from the window or moving it to an east window or west window that doesn't get sun until really late afternoon. Another factor to consider is temperature. What temperatures are you giving your Phal?

I don't think too much light is the problem. She is in Canada, and it is winter. A south west window is a minimum, even for phals. FYI, where I live in france (with is at the same latitude as the great lakes) I leaves my phals in a south facing window all summer long. Since there is a bush near the window, they get very bright, dappled sunlight most of the day. And my phals are perfectly fine.

I am tempted to think that there is some sort of disease at work here.

hmmmm, I'm not sure either. :hmm All I can think of is that perhaps that side of the plant is either in too much light or touching a cold window? Usually when I've noticed anything that resembles that leaf, it's due to environmental causes. I would cut it with a sterile scissor or knife just in from the bad coloring, and either put cinnamon, neosporin, or some type of bacterial fighter that is safe for orchids just to cover all the bases. :(
When the sun shines in, does the leaves feel quite warm? That would indicate too much sun. My winter's are quite severe, but I can still burn phal leaves in my south window. Location location location! :)

hmmmm, well it certainly could have been that that part of the leaf was touching the window and maybe got damaged by the cold? I hope its that and not some kind of disease. The window does get VERY cold and its a small ledge so i had it very close to the window. I've moved it into my kitchen now so its not touching the window, i'm just worried about movign it with the new spike growing, but its probably better than freezing it. I'll go cut the leaf and put some cinnamon on it. Fingers crossed! Thank you!
