Cattleya labiata 'Rotunda'
I posted this one last year, but the flowers were not at their best then. Here they are, much better now. These crossing petals flowers of C. labiata are splendid! This plant is daughter of a very well succeeded cross between C. labiata 'Michelle' x C. labiata 'Batatais'. Batatais alone is awesome, but the union with 'Michelle' has been producing superb flowers. It is flowering earlier than the normal this year because we're having an abnormally cold summer, with temperatures 6 to 8º C bellow the normal, typical of the fall.

What a beautiful labiata. Great shape and color. The flowers also look like they have excellent substance by the way the petals and sepals are held up and flat. The plant is worthy of an award.

Mauro that's a beautiful flower; but I wouldn't expect any less from the master grower himself. Congratulations !!!!!

It certainly is a beautiful orchid. I just love the lip and throat. Coloring striking. You really do have an awsome collection. As always, thanks for sharing.

Thanks all for the kind words!

Splendid flowering. Some cattleya labiata nevertheless are very coloured. What is the size of the pot in which it is cultivated? Have you noticed that the cattleya labiata was more sensitive than the others to blackrot.
