History is made!

I make it a point to not discuss politics or religion but just had to post something about today...

I just finished watching the Inauguration ceremony for the United States of America's 44th President Barack Obama and thought his speech was wonderful...I feel more hopeful right now than I have in recent months.

Today is the first day on the road to better things for our country and the world...

God Bless America and God Bless President Obama and his family

Thank you Sue. I didn't watch it (I guess I'm not into that sort of thing, even though I voted for him as the only viable alternative.) But I truly have a hope that this guy will change the errant path his predecessor sent us along. I'm not finding many countries or people who support the previous administration. It so sad this president has to clean up this mess even before he can get serious about the new path! And, while economics can't be blamed entirely on the previous leader, they are still a result of the actions of some of the leaders he chose (or should I say inactions?) I look forward to a real change in spirit and actions. I think this change was going to happen at some point and I'm glad it's now, within my lifetime. Only thing that would have made it more pointed is to have had the inauguration yesterday.

We now have two important factors - hope and change.
Both are seriously needed......

I wish the President well, he has a difficult challenge ahead.

Hi Ross :)

I didn't make a point of watching all the speeches while they were campaigning but today was a big day in our history and I couldn't miss it! :D

His speech was impressive (to me) and I feel like we can go only go up from where we are now...

whether somebody voted for him or not isn't part of the equation anymore...we need to come together and get this great nation of ours back on track.

Amen, Sue!!

This is the dawn of a new day in our country.

And I'm so thankful to hear just now too that Sen. Ted Kennedy seems to be doing ok.

I'm so excited !!! I did watch the speech and the oath and until they went to the luncheon. I'm so happy to have been able to vote for the first time this year after becoming a citizen and have voted for him.
