On a related note, the temperature when I walked between my office and class today was shirt sleeve weather. Or it felt like it, 10F is positively balmy compared to the -10F I woke up to...

I can't even begin to imagine such cold weather. Even siberia must be warmer than what the northern states are experiencing! The worst I've experienced, at our country house in France during february break a few years back, was -20°C, so only -5°F or something like that. And even that was too cold!!:icy :cold The ducks were living in the house with us, since they couldn't stay warm outside. They loved watching TV with us on th sofa, and bathing in the bathtub. (I know, we're crazy people!)

How short some memories are! :) In the 70s, the Midwest had some really cold temps and really deep snows. Maybe we are just getting back to "normal". I heard it's been colder-than-normal in Florida as well?

Just went out to the truck to retrieve something and was in slippers and a light jacket. It's up to 8 degrees here :biggrin:

A couple of years. In the summer time, it is some of the most beautiful country you have ever seen. However, while we were there, I could not help but notice the fact that they had gates across the entrances to the highway, in case they had to close the highway any time in the winter. We both agreed that although it was a great place to vacation, we would never want to be there year round.
