Phal Intermedia is a natural hybrid between Phal aphrodite and equestris. This plant is a very vigorous, freeblooming plant.

Very nice! I have four of these and three are in spike. I'm looking forward to seeing my own bloom!

Thanks for sharing. I have a seedling of this too and am looking forward to seeing some blooms like yours!

What a gorgeous Phal! Love the color and shape of the blooms. Good enough to eat.

Very nice looking flowers, thanks. Jim.

Very nice Wendy! Did you know the correct name for this is Phal. xintermediate. (no space between the "x" and "intermediate" and the x is not capatalized as it is a species in its own right..........

Al
[EDIT]
I should add that this can also be found as Phal. intermedia, which should be Phal. xintermedia. I have no idea how these little errors get started but once "out there" they are impossible to stop. :-)

Gorgeous primary Wendy

Phal intermedia is only considered a species if it is a naturally created plant...xintermedia. If it is a man made cross it is then considered a hybrid...Intermedia.

Hi Al :waving

According to Orchidwiz, the correct name is:

Phalaenopsis Intermedia
(Phalaenopsis aphrodite x Phalaenopsis equestris)

This is also the name I've seen listed on it anytime I've looked at them...because I want one!!! :D

Tindomul 01-15-2009 10:35 AM

There would be an x if it were a natural hybrid. Is it?
