The flowers will last several weeks minimum. Paph crosses usually produce little seed and a selfing of a complex hybrid will probably do the same. Only one flower per spike and the growth will eventually die after flowering but do not remove it until it is entirely dead - it continues to provide nourishment for the new growths which will grow along side. Not sure what you mean by a terminal spike. Paphs do not produce keikis, but new growths will come up along side the growth that is now flowering and your pictures show that this is already happening with your plant.

Ooooh I see when I said terminal I was revering to how the flower spike pops up in the middle then after wards the plant dies you usially only see it with phaelenopsis.
So is there a way to make it produce a bunch of side plants before it makes any more flowers? Can these be made into divisions?

Thnx

Phalaenopsis continue to grow from the crown after flowering, Paphiopedilums do not. Your plant will produce side plants with having to be "made" to do so - it is already doing so. These can eventually become divisions, but you need to be careful to let the plant grow to a size where several leads can be potted on their own. The little tiny new growths will not do well on their own, and are better left attached to the older growths. Most Paphs can safely be divided only rather infrequently.

Nice looking Paph by the way. I like the wine color.

Jay, What a wonderful Christmas gift. I love the color another one for my wish list.
