How long do blooms last?

I must have been spoiled by my first orchid. I bought my first orchid, a phal, around 12 months ago with two spikes. It has bloomed continuously for 12 months. Now I recently received a cat and onc in bloom for my birthday. Generally, how long and how often do phals, cats and oncs bloom? Thanks for any info. -Mel

depends on the type of catt or oncidium u got there. catts can bloom from 1 - 3 months oncidiums can bloom for 2 months. with proper care (direct sunlight, and not watering the flower buds and proper temp) for phals it also depends can just go for less than a week to 2 months still depends on the breed and care.

Phals depends on the type of species.
catts sometimes can bloom twice to thrice a year
oncidium cam bloom 2 to 3 times a year. depends on the type of plant. if its a small breed it can bloom several times a larger one can maybe grown 2-3 times a year.

Flower longevity is dependent upon a lot of factors - genetics and maturity determine the maximum possible blossom life, with overall health and cultural conditions being the most significant factors in whether they get there are not.
