Pabstia viridis

This is a cute little thing native of the wet forests in the Southeast Brazil. The flowers are mostly green with the petals heavily spotted. From a distance it is hard to notice that the plant is flowering. A jewel I've been growing with care!

Another green beauty! It truly is amazing Mauro. Is that a hint of purple/blue I noticed in the lip...or is that my eyes playing tricks on me?

 Your eyes are OK, David! The lip is purple-bluish, like some Zygos!

Very nice, Mauro!

I've tried growing this species several times over the years without success. I've tried growing it along with Zygopetalums, cooler, warmer, and with less light. Nothing seems to work.

I'm aware that it needs careful attention with watering. I've grown it in chopped tree fern, on a xaxim mount supplied by Seidel, and in other loose mixes.

Any suggestions? I might try once more!

This species is native of the rainforests in the Southeast region. Even though it has pseudo bulbs the thin leaves like humid, fresh to cool air. I grow mine in tree fern fiber (xaxim) along with my Draculas, out of the greenhouse and under the heavy shade of a Macadamia tree. It is watered every other day during the cold months and almost every day during the summer. I fertilize with organic fertilizer two times a year.
I decided to place it along with the Draculas after seeing it growing in the wild in shady positions high on a mountain where temperatures are very low in the winter.
That's it, I guess! :)

Thank you, Mauro! I can maintain winter temps of 15C day and 7C night. Is this too warm? If so, then I will not try again.

I need to try even lower light levels and I need to use less fertilizer.

Those temps are Ok, Stitz. No need to get lower than that!
