organic fertilizers

Maybe in a few decades (unless my orchid collection grows a LOT in the next few years :crossfing ) I will run out of the synthetic orchid fertilizer that I bought for my chids. I'm interested in switching to organic fertilizer to reduce the environmental impact. I would switch immediately, but throwing out my synthetic stuff would be worse than using it up.

So two questions. 1. Does anyone have a particular organic fertilizer that they like and is reasonably priced and readily available (free, like things around the house, counts as reasonably priced! )

2. My mother started a worm bin and along with the solid worm poop, which we use on outdoor plants and in our vegie garden, there is a liquid that collects in the bottom as well. I have seen "liquid worm poop" fertilizers in stores (like the ones in those recycled pop bottles). I have tried a low concentration of the liquid mixed in water from my worm bin on my paph and saw no harmful effects. I would like to use this if I can and was wondering if anyone knows how concentrated to mix it or if anyone can suggest a ratio. :scratchhead:

i think with organics most arent strong enuf to burn plants, the excess will wash away when you flush anyway, but worm poop is fairly safe for any plant. the recommended dosage is a matter of taste (ewwww!)...and there is always the old standby of fish emulsion, if your nose can take it.....
