HCC question

What does HCC mean when I see it following the orchid's name? Thanks for any help.

HCC is Highly Commended Certificate. Its awarded to an orchid that schores between 75 and 79 points on the judging card. Basically the bronze medal of the orchid world.

The American Orchid Society Judging has three flower quality awards along with other awards that recognize growing skill, unusual species, etc. The three flower quality awards are the Highly Commended Certificate (HCC), the Award of Merit (AM), the next highest award, and the First Class Certificate (FCC), the highest and most coveted and not given very often. In my gallery there is a picture of Cattleya jenmaii alba that has an FCC/AOS.
