I'm sooo sad....
 

Last summer I bought 6 catleyas and I have been taking great care of them. I was sooo happy that two of them had buds coming up. But today while I was watering them I bumped the buds on one of them with another plant, and the buds fell off.....:nono: :nono: :nono: :_( :_( :_( :_( :_( :_( :_( :_( :_( :_( :_(

So very disappointing, Singingirl! It seems to take so long to develop buds and then to knock them off! :((
Most of us have gone through that at one time or another but as long as your plant is healthy it'll come back. :goodluck:

Aww, I feel bad for you.:_( :bua: I really hate when that happens. Everyone breaks off spikes and buds at one point or another, but I think that is of no consolation to you! Looks like you 'll have to wait for more blooms...

I'm sorry to hear about the bud damage. We've all been there at one point or another. Take good care of her and she'll reward you with the best blooms you'll ever see :biggrin:

hey dont feel so bad I've broken everything, buds, spikes, stems, leaves, you name it. It's not like you dropped the whole plant in the pool or ran it over with your car....it's still alive and will produce many times over

Not only have I broken a lot of spikes and buds, but it seems to me that every time I am anxiously watching a seedling that is developing buds for the first time ,some sort of insect, a cricket, a roach, a beetle, who knows what, will chew the buds and they eventually turn black and fall. My first thought is: No not another year to wait. It is very frustrating but it is all part of the process and look at all of the pleasure derived from those that do make it. Cheer up! Go out and buy a new orchid. That always helps.
