Anyone Growing Oncidium Twinkles in S/H

Just got one and all of my orchids are in S/H. Will this one grow well in S/H? The root structure looks pretty delicate but healthy.

I have small one I "rescued" from a supermarket here in Basel. After a while, I moved it to S/H and it's doing very well in it now :) 8 spikes are currently growing :)

My conditions: under 2 X T8 tubes (about 7 inches below), misting every 4h while the lights are on... Temps. anywhere between 21°C and 28°C along the year..

I have a Ocdm. Wildcat 'Carmela' which is doing great, and a Vuyl. Ensan Fantasy which is sulking a little. I moved them both to S/H early this spring at the same time. I'm thinking of trying a Mtssa. next.

In my greenhouse, 'Twinkles' loved it.

I bought one last year, and put in a shallow S/H pot. Really a used plastic salsa container. I used that since Ray said the Twinkle has a shallow root system. The plants seem to love it! They exploded! I have 6 spikes around the plant, and that is after only 9 months in the S/H.

I suggest the shallow S/H pots for these. Which only about 4 inches of leca above the reservoir line. You are smart people, I'm sure you can figure out a suitable container for them.

Cheers,
James

Thanks for the replies. I have put mine in a shorter container now. Hopefully it does well.
