Ok just found out this one has been renamed. hehe. So goes taxonomy.
I recieved this one as an extra in a trade. Nothing like free orchids!! It was a small cutting with two pbulbs, and I never thought it would bloom in just a few months. But here it is, in bloom, with two more buds, and one very fat growing new pbulb. Now I have an octopus orchid, hehe. |
Super neat one, Tindo. How's the fragrance?

Wow it really does look like an octopus!!! It's very unique!
|
I did not detect any fragrance. Is it supposed to have one?

Here is an update. My lovely wife to be said it smells like lavender.

Once they start they just don't stop. Mine has been blooming for about 6 years now without a pause. Sometimes more spikes, sometimes fewer, but always at least a couple.
I even split up and re-potted it about 2 years ago while in bloom. It needed it badly, and it just wouldn't stop blooming. The plant didn't even seem to notice the repotting, just kept going without a pause. It's blooms are kind of "subtle" for an orchid, but it's one of my favorites (my wife's too). I hope yours continues to perform for you the way mine has. Ed |
A continuous bloomer? Everyone needs one of them in their collection. Looks like a nice little orchids. Wonder if they would do as well in a greenhouse?
