It looks like a new variety of lizard has made his home in my garden. I'm used to seeing alot of Cuban Anoles, and an occassional cameleon or gecko, but these guys look markedly different with their rust colored head and stripe with diamond pattern running along their back. Is anyone familiar with this type?

I don't know the type, but it sure is beautiful.

I was kinda thinkin along the lines of "Twilight Zone". You might be too young to remember that "creepy" show.

I found a second similar lizard near this guy. He or she, had the same head and stripe but no zigzag. I figure the male has the zigzag and the female doesn't. Guy critters are usually showier than the girl critters.

It's really weird. Has it been hit with lightning?

:hello We have thousands of those everywhere down here in So Fla. If you don't watch your step you could squish them. I have one that sleeps on the same orchid every night. Here is a pic from a couple months ago. He is bigger now. I think they are very cute, too! Plus a pic of a cute tree frog that also lives in the orchid house.

Does he have cousins living in the Arizona desert? His back looks like some of the Native Indian art I've seen out there. :)
